Share the Dignity
Share the Dignity is an Australia-wide organisation with the belief that access to period products is a right, not a privilege. When someone is doing it tough, the last thing on their mind should be dealing with their period. By distributing millions of period products, establishing Dignity Vending Machines and education campaigns to end shame and stigma, Share the Dignity makes a real difference to the lives of thousands of women experiencing homelessness, fleeing domestic violence, or doing it tough.
The Pretty Foundation
In a world where 38% of 4-year-old girls express dissatisfaction with their bodies, The Pretty Foundation is working to help create a world where girls are comfortable in their bodies and develop confidence in themselves to achieve their goals. With an emphasis on education and awareness-rasing, The Pretty Foundation empowers girls with the perspective, skills and support they need to develop and nurture a positive body awareness and relationship with themselves.
Fitted for Work
Fitted for Work is an Australian not-for-profit dedicated to helping women experiencing disadvantage find work and navigate through their working lives with success. Its goal is to provide women with the practical skills, knowledge, self-esteem and know-how so that they can move forward with confidence in the workplace. Inclusivity and empowerment are at the heart of all the Fitted for Work does, and it warmly welcomes anyone who identifies as a female, Gender Diverse and Non-Binary. When a woman is fitted for work, she is fitted for life.
SisterWorks
SisterWorks' vision is to build an Australia where women with refugee, asylum-seeker or migrant backgrounds can improve their confidence, mental well-being and sense of belonging, and gain access to opportunities to become economically empowered. With training hubs and meeting places based in Richmond, SisterWorks gives women meaningful opportunities to develop pathways of education, employment, entrepreneurship, leadership and social connection. SisterWorks delivers learning opportunities in a safe, friendly and nurturing space in the areas of Support, Design, Cooking, Business, Digital and Pathways.
Djirra
Primarily run by and for Aboriginal women, Djirra shares and celebrates culture by providing culturally safe and accessible services to Aboriginal people seeking support. It offers a range of services and practical support for women, with a particular focus on assisting Aboriginal people currently or previously experiencing family violence. Djirra is the Woiwurrung word for the reed used by Wurundjeri women for basket weaving. Traditionally, when women gathered to weave, important talks took place and problems were solved. Djirra symbolises Aboriginal women today, still coming together to share stories, support each other and find solutions.
