Fear is a powerful feeling. It literally has the power to make or break us. But we’re here to let you in on a secret: fear is not the enemy to your growth and success; it’s how you respond to it.
This immensely useful human emotion tells us when something new or challenging lies ahead. It’s hardwired into our DNA. So it’s not a matter of eliminating fear, rather learning to work with it.
Do you find yourself avoiding opportunities that scare you? Or apologising for speaking before you’ve even said anything (“Sorry, can I just say…”)? What if, instead of shrinking in challenging situations, you expanded? What if you could say ‘yes’ and ‘no’ with more confidence?
Instead of seeing fear as a red flag, what if you started using it as a tool for growth?
In the next She Mentors event, we’re joined by Dr Amy Silver, psychologist and author of The Loudest Guest. Taking an evidence-based approach, Amy will help us change and control our relationship with fear. She’ll explore ways we can talk back to that inner voice and move through fear with compassion and kindness.
You'll learn:
👉 How and why fear has such powerful control over you
👉 How to identify when fear is holding you back
👉 Techniques to evaluate fear’s narrative in your life
👉 How to ‘separate’ yourself from fear and move beyond its discomfort
👉 How to spot opportunities to explore and experiment with fear
👉 How to *finally* reach your potential
Who should attend?
This event is for you if, deep down inside, you know you could do more with your life. Maybe you’re prone to worrying or over-thinking, or find yourself saying ‘yes’ to everything (hello, people-pleasers). If you’re ready to step out of your comfort zone and learn actionable strategies to help you grow, come along on Wednesday 16 June at 8pm AEST.
Update: We're kicking things off with our very first session of Mentor Roulette from 7.30pm AEST, so come along earlier if you'd like pre-event networking! We'll be putting you into random breakout rooms of 3-4 people so you can meet other members.
